SLJ Message in a Bottle- Kick Start

Hello everyone,
Today I went to the Summer Learning Journey,
The task for today was that we had to like to make a google drawing pick a bottle and link the bottle onto a google doc and on that google doc there would be a message. You would have to decorate the google drawing like make the bottle tilted so it could look like it is in the water.
OR You could make it in real life like get a bottle and write a message on a paper that looks very stained like it was from the 70s and put the paper in the bottle.

First I had to get paper then I got a used tea bag and I dabbed it on to the paper to make it look old.
Then I scrunched the paper and opened it then I rolled it up and put it inside the bottle.
The Letter I wrote would be at the shore of the beach
Now I took the Pictures, wanna see them,
Here you go,




If the Letter is unreadable The Letter says
“Hello!
Thank you for picking up this bottle. We are currently on holiday and have no access to Internet so could you please take this message to our parents who live at 24 foster rd 1025. And please tell them It was from Anna and John. They live in Italy Subs please find a way To get it to them. We are sending this letter To you from Egypt. As a reward We have gotten you A rare flower From Egypt. Thank you so much Good luck”

SLJ Activity 2: Step It Up Shell – ebration

Hey everyone!
Yesterday I did the Summer Learning Journey, I forgot to do the blog so I am Doing it today.
Yesterday’s task was to make a shell museum and like facts and the shells names and a picture,
First you had to create a Google slide and then you have to find a shell that is unique to NZ,
now You have to Find some facts about the shell And put the Picture right beside it,
And then you keep on doing it again and again and again Until you have enough slides I did like 15 slides yesterday.

I found this activity pretty tricky because I haven’t really made a shell museum before or any Museum at all on Google slides, so yeah I didn’t really know what to do so i had to be creative with this.

Anyways here is my Museum.

SLJ Activity 1: Kick Start Shell – ebration

Hello everyone,
How are you guys doing today,
Today I did the Summer Learning Journey.
Today’s task was to make a piece of artwork using shells and if you have any shells
You could do it on google drawing using pictures of shells. I didn’t have any shells so I had to do it on google drawing

First I had to open a google drawing and name it, now I had to search up on google some pictures of shells.

Then I have to put them as artwork I did mine as a flower.

I found this activity easy because all you had to do was make a simple shell artwork.

SLJ Kupe and Te Wheke Coding Game – Step it up

Hello everyone,
Today I did the Summer Learning journey,
today’s step it up task was to Make a scratch Similar To my Kickstart Task.

Anyways first you have to open up the scratch, And You have to choose a backdrop, Now you have your Backdrop You would now Want to Choose a Sprite, Now that you have chosen your sprite you would have to choose another one so now the first sprite has to chase The second Sprite.

I know this might sound complicated But it was really easy Anyways You guys want to have a look at my Scratch If you don’t Well too bad because you guys are going to have a look,

SLJ Kupe and Te Wheke Digital Story – Kick Start

Hello everyone.
Today I did the summer learning Journey.
On Christmas a summer learning journey task came,
unfortunately because it was Christmas i was spending time with my family
and I had no time to do The summer learning journey.

So I did it today.
So Wednesday’s task was to Go scratch And make a video Of a sea creature.
First I had to Find a background, I did my Background As a Ocean.
Then it had to Pick a Sprite The Sprite I chose was a crab,
Then after that you had to Pick another Sprite That the crab could chase I chose a heart.

I found this activity Pretty nice and easy Because I did something like this at school once So I knew I was doing.

SLJ Palolo – Caviar of the Pacific Step It Up

Hello everyone,
Today I did the Summer Learning,
The Task that I got given is that we have to make palolo menu.
First you have to Make a copy Off a Google drawing Then after that You have to
Make Two recipes Based on Seafood dishes And One of them Has to be palolo Dish,
On Google Drawing You have to write about the dish And what it’s about And then you have to
Add images of the dish, Now once you do that you’ll have to Customize the background And Do it Like how you want to do it.
I found this activity pretty Fun and relaxed because it’s not that hard and it’s not Easy I found that a good level for me to work on.

SLJ Palolo – Sea Worms Kick Start

Hello everyone,
Today I did the Summer Learning Journey,
The task that we were given was that we had to make Palolo,
(For those who don’t know what it is it is a worm)
First I had to make a goggle drawing I found,
Then I had to find a background (I found mine on goggle) where palolo lives.
Now I have to make a Palolo using any tool, I use the shape tool.
And then I had to make facts about the palolo’s (I did 3 facts)

Now I am going to share with you guys 2 things that I have learnt, I have learnt that Palolo’s can be eaten raw or cooked and that Palolo grows up to 40 cm.

SLJ Aquatic Animal – Kick Start Bonus Saturday Activity

Hello everyone,
Today I did the Summer Learning Journey,
Today’s task was to make our favorite aquatic animal.
First we had to make a google drawing and name it,
Then you have to draw your favorite aquatic animal using the tool curve,
If you have seen all of my recent posts you should know what my favorite aquatic animal is,
and if you don’t know what it is it is a TURTLE.
I found this task nice and easy because I have used the curve tool many times doing the Summer Learning Journey so I knew what I was doing.

SLJ Manu Tukutuku- Step It Up

Hello everyone I hope you guys all enjoyed your Christmas.
Today I did the Summer Learning Journey.
Today’s task was to fly our kite, So in the kick-start that I did earlier today,
we had to make a kite we were allowed to use like natural materials or recycled materials.

apparently I had no string so I went to look for some then I found this big blue roll of string so I decided to cut some and use it for my kite,
Then we had to go and test out the kite. So today is a nice beautiful sunny hot day and there was no wind
so I just held on to the string and just ran with it hoping that it would fly, But even though it didn’t fly I am still proud of myself for trying :[

SLJ Manu Tukutuku-Kick Start

Hello everyone Hope you guys enjoyed your Christmas yesterday!
Today i did the summer learning Journey today’s task was to make a kite
we had the option to make it out of nature materials all I could use recycled materials.
First we had to get on materials (I chose to do mine with Recycled materials)
Then we had to make a kite I made my shape of a diamond, I know we weren’t supposed to put a design on the top But I did it anyway so could look nice and pretty. I didn’t add the string on because I didn’t have any 🙁 But it’s okay,
Anyways, I found this task Easy because I have made a Kite when I was a junior before So already knew how to do it. Hope you guys enjoy,And here is my Kite.
